Somos escravos da nossa imagem, porque ela faz com que as pessoas a nossa volta ajam de acordo com essa imagem....

Quando há um grupo de pessoas conversando e voce se junta a esse grupo, as pessoas vão modificar a forma ou o conteudo do que falam por causa da imagem que elas tem de voce.
Não te incomoda o fato de que você nunca vai ter como saber como seria a conversa se essas pessoas te vissem de outra forma?

Queria ser capaz de ter diferentes imagens e diferentes personalidades, pra conseguir ver o mundo produzido de diferentes formas e sob diferentes pontos de vista...  Posted at 13:26

• tem medo e se sentem confortaveis quando alguem lhes dita os valores e regras.
  
• s?o rebeldes e criam seu proprio sistema de valores e regras e tentam imp?-los ?s pessoas do tipo anterior.
  
• aceitam a incerteza em suas vidas (correndo eventualmente o risco da insanidade ou da antipatia das pessoas dos tipos anteriores)...

  Creativity, Order and Development

Some weeks ago, I listened to a speech in the management class in ITA. The subject should have been Management and Engineering and Enterpreneurship, but the man, an ex-ITA student, started talking about a lot of different things. One of them was about the lack of order culture in Brasil. He said and I agree with him, that we brasilians are individually more able and smarter than people from developed countries. They succeed more than us, because they are more organized and they know how to work in teams.

But why are we not organised?? And here I quite disagree with him. He argued that we are too creative and creativity opposes to order. But I can see no problem in associating order and creativity. In fact, brasilians, without order, can transform their creativity mostly on samba, axé and other futile things, while the ordered americans, for example, invent light, telephone, computers...  Posted at 22:51

  K-Pax

Today I saw the movie K-Pax, which is about a person who says that comes from another planet (K-Pax). Naturally, he becomes enprisoned in a psychiatric hospital, where his dcotor tries to find the truth about him.   Sleepless Record

I believe that I am overcoming my record of longest time awake. I have just completed 38 continuous hours without sleeping. The last time I slept was a short period of 5 hours in the night from monday to tuesday. Why that? Beucause I had to make a robotics homework for the masters degree in ITA and also prepare and present 2 powerpoint presentations and do the Management Course final test.

I have just watched the movie Butterfly Effect, where the concept of chaos theory is applied to time travels to the past, which change small facts there but have huge consequences in the present time, like the butterfly that creates tornadoes by moving its wings... I don´t know why I haven´t commented Love Junkies yet, since it´s already in the 8th edition and it has addicted all the people in my apartment!

  No Power

This weekend I chose not to go to Piracicaba, as usual, because I needed to do a lot of homework. But the power was turned off in the whole CTA all this saturday, so I couldn´t do what I expected... To minimize the negative consequences I stayed working yesterday until 4:30 in the morning on what I should have worked today. And now I´m extremely tired (worsened by the fact that I played a lot of soccer this afternoon)...

I always find it funny when power is off in CTA. A big center of technology that can´t even control its own electricity.

  TOEFL: A Good Start

I finally took one of the sample TOEFL test offered in a demo software that Wayne lent me. And I think my result was quite good. My score was in the range 233 - 290 from a maximum of 300! (The software gives only a range because it cannot correct the essay). My partial scores were: listening - 28; writing/structure - 13-30; Reading: 29.

Making 233 points is already enough to be admitted in a lot of USA universities... This means I will not have to study so much as I was expecting.  Posted at 21:21

  Oráculo

The section Oráculo of my site was updated! Now there are already 284 philosophical quotes! The file has already 45kB, and that shows me that I must begin worrying about using a better technology to handle all those quotes. I currently use javascript, so all quotes must be read by the browser... Maybe it´s better to make a database using SQL and PHP or JSP...  Posted at 00:23

  Two Movies and The Meaning of Life

I just saw two movies that make us think about what makes life worthy...

The first one was Uma Vida em Sete Dias, where a woman hears the prophecy that she´s gonna die in one week...

The second was O Ultimo Suspeito, a multi-generation police movie about parents who abandon their children, the consequences and the second chances...

  VOCTA

This tuesday happened the VOCTA (Volta Olímpica do CTA), which is part of the OI (Olimpíada Interna) and is a race of about 5km around the CTA. I was not willing to participate because I had a flu some days before, but everybody was so enthuasiastic that i changed my mind. I arrived at position 25, 8 postions better than in my first year! This improvement is probably due to my better ability to control my breath today...  Posted at 17:46
